Based on the African symbol "Sankofa," which reminds us that our future depends on our past, this Institute is a new concept for annual training.
This AAAM directed, daylong training program provides museum trustees, members of the board of directors, and museum staff members the opportunity for tailor-made training in the areas of museum management. Topics include board governance, philanthropy and non-profit management.
Issues vary from year to year, but they generally cover a wide array of focus areas including strategic planning, position management and conducting evaluations.
