Welcome to Pittsburgh!

Visitors arriving from the Pittsburgh International Airport approach the city through the Fort Pitt Tunnel and are delivered into a downtown glistening with skyscrapers. Banked on all sides by water and lush green hills, Pittsburgh was described by one New York Times writer as "the only city in America with an entrance." Point State Park stands at the confluence of three mighty rivers-the Allegheny, the Monongahela and the Ohio-marking one corner of the compact, arrowhead-shaped downtown known as the Golden Triangle.

Visitors find themselves within easy walking distance of five major hotels, the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, more than a dozen historical and cultural attractions, architectural landmarks, professional sports, great shopping and food to delight every taste.

A visit to Pittsburgh would not be complete without a trip to its historic Cultural District. Located in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh, the Cultural District is within walking distance from the city’s best hotels, restaurants, shops and public parks, as well as the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

Among the options of art and live entertainment is the August Wilson Center for African American Culture. Named for the Pittsburgh-born, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, this destination is a stunning new addition to Pittsburgh’s Cultural District. Amplifying African American voices, the new center reflects all aspects of African American culture with galleries, live entertainment, interactive educational experiences and much more.

From the pre-revolutionary drama of the French & Indian War to the legendary match-ups of the Super Steelers, discover 250 years of Pittsburgh history at the Senator John Heinz History Center. The History Center is the largest history museum in Pennsylvania and presents the most compelling stories from American history with a Western Pennsylvania connection, all in an interactive environment perfect for visitors of every age!

Pittsburgh's beauty goes beyond mere scenery. The culture deftly mixes new and old; the choices and pace of urban life with the comfort and tree-lined quiet from an earlier time. We invite you to feel the warm embrace of the people and the landscape of Pittsburgh, the perfect tonic for stressful times.
